Irish stone approached 4 Corners to provide them with a LED Lightbox to showcase a new product that they had just brought to the market. A thin layer of real stone, fused onto a clear resin, that allows light through, showing the true grain and life within the stone. The problem was that they wanted something slimline but that allowed the light to travel right to the edge of the panel. A traditional lightbox wouldn’t have worked, as that required an aluminium trim around the edges to hold the panel in place, thus blocking the light. With a great deal of R&D, we came up with a idea to use small magnets to hold the panel in place. This would allow us to make a lightbox that illuminated right to the edge. Through numerous prototypes and trying various magnets, we finally came up with a design that worked and was a show stopper when it went on display at the Self Build Show in February.
Since then, we have created other versions with colour changing LEDs that can be controlled from a smartphone.
We worked with Irish Stone to ensure that the product we were recommending was perfect for them and through a range of R&D options we are able to find the perfect solution to their needs.
We manufactured and fitted the light box and the exhibition as a huge success for them.
